In the early morning, the floating market on Dal Lake is extremely deserted. This is quite common in Kashmir’s winter. The streets of Srinagar and Pehalgam are no longer as busy as the past, and free Kashmiris are accustomed to the bleak winter. Children and old people have also become accustomed to frequent conflicts and martial law, as tensions are part of their lives. Although it’s not a long winter, unnatural factors make people's lives more difficult. In front of me, a female stranger and artist, they are still calm and friendly.
